Anyway I think it is strange people are voting on something as if it is subjective when it absolutely is not: Iberians are genetically closer to Brits/Germans than to Sicilians (I agree they do not look like it on average, though), and it is not up for debate, it just is.

This is on GEDmatch calculators, I think he is talking about a different form of analysis in which all Southern Europeans predominantly score an ancient Anatolian Neolithic component. But I don't necessarily think that approach is most accurate.

Eurogenes K15 has components that are the copy of one another, for example North_Sea and Atlantic, East_Med and Red_Sea. However lol, it makes no sense to put an East_Med component that covers an area that goes from Tuscany / Albania to Yemen.

I've gotten many times almost identical results with nMonte using the PCA 25 averages as some peer per viewed papers. It depends on how you use it and what populations you put in but the PCA 25 spreadsheet is totally fine.

I was thinking of the phrasing. How can an Ancient population derive from a modern component based on mixed people like South-Central Asians? Running them through these calculators and then drawing conclusions from it is not accurate.

I consider any European citizen as European regardless of any factor, having said that I think that the Spanish give an aspect of the West obviously and perhaps the Sicilians have a more Eastern European finish than for us Westerners that exotic brushstroke of Eastern Europe is striking for us and I suppose the same thing happens in reverse and that in turn anywhere in the world both would look European.

Spain is a big country and there are some differences between the areas obviously not the big differences that occur in Italy but they are there. I think every country would have some differences if they were split up.

In G25 there is an overrepresentation of the Catalan samples that are divided into many small regions. Basically they have all the variety of the Iberian peninsula, from the more northern shifted to the southern. I am even closer to some French samples than to some Spanish regions (such as Soria or some of Catalunya_Central).
