View Full Version : Pontid type. Is it Baltid influenced?

Some people claim that today’s Pontid type is influenced by Baltid type and therefore Pontid has softer features than the other East Mediterranid types (Iranid and Cappodocid). How true is that?

I think it is not true. If today’s Pontid type is Baltid influenced, then it would be Baltid Pontid.

But it has more northern origin than pure med types. Pontids were present among Yamnaya

I guess Pontid is the most proper East Med type. The others are mixed. For instance, Iranid is also an East Med with Orientalid and East Nordid impact.

Most people think that East Mediterranid are these morphs but these morphs look Pontid + Armenoid.

You people need to read more info from actual anthropologists and care less about some weird theories made by some members.
Pontid is defined as fully Mediterranean type.

Also, there is no such thing as South Pontid term.

Pontid with baltid influence call North Pontid. Pontid is similar med type in Spain and West Europe call Atlanto-Mediterranid
