16Kosovo film director and screenwriter, Luan Kryeziu, who is making final preparations for shooting a feature movie depicting the life of the Kosovo hero Adem Jashari, a founding member of the KLA, says Croatian actor Rade Serbedzija was offered to play the leading role of the Kosovo hero.

Jashari and more than 50 members of his extended family were killed in March 1998 by Serbian forces, which marked the beginning of the war in Kosovo that left over 13 thousand people dead, while 1,600 are still considered as missing. Film director Kryeziu told TV Klan Kosova that he received some of the proposals of who would play the founder of the KLA, Adem Jashari. Among those who called him expressing interest to play leading role was Serbian actor, Rade Serbedzija. According to Kryeziu, Serbedzija contacted him through Kosovo actor who was famous in former Yugoslavia, Enver Petrovci. “The reasons he gave me was strange stating that ‘If I as a Serb can play Adem Jashari’s role, then the whole world would accept Adem Jashari,’” says Kryeziu, who however said that he turned down the offer. Kryeziu said that an audition on Adem Jashari’s role is expected in coming months. Rade Serbedzija is a Croatian born actor of Serbian nationality. He is one of the rare stars of ex-Yugoslavia who made a breakthrough in Hollywood films, including the film “Eyes Wide Shut” of the US director, Stanley Kubrick.

Rade is actually the only Serb I kind of like, and he is a really good actor to my opinion. Although that said, the film itself will lose its value if a Serb plays the leading role. Why doesn’t he play as one of the Serbs? I am sure such a roles would fit him much better.

That was a gangster, he also plays an Albanian gangster in Casino Royale... but Jashari was an Anti-terrorist and had a huge despise of Serbian rats, this is a role Rade has never taken on before. He mostly played gangsters from what I recall...

Maybe he should play one of those Serb terrorists that attacked Prekaz village and killed civilians including children....

But you don't wanna be forever remembered as the bad guy.

Anti terrorist act lmao.. i guess shooting children in the forehead is an anti terrorist act huh... shes talking good about Adem Jashari but according to Serbs he used his family as shield... I wonder... if he used them as shield as Serbs say then why is she talking good about him when he's dead? Maybe because Chetniks are fucking liars. The fact they go to lie this far shows you how sick they are... if such a lie is easily made about someone else and their family by the very same people that slaughtered them.. then how many other lies are there that you buy into?

Its not the first time this village was attacked by Serbian terrorists of course...

May I introduce to you one of my relatives, an anti terrorist and Chetnik Killer, in an anti terrorist act he killed like 13 armed Serbs with an axe and saved local Albanian women from being raped and civilians slaughtered.

Its from the same newspaper. Duhhhhh :picard1:

It means someone is lying. Maybe this media is lying for clicks ???? WOOOOW what a surprise.....

Not sure what made Jashari a criminal anymore than the people he fought though... He had no criminal record whatsoever.. but the people he fought were wanted by interpol.. I guess because he didn't give in to Serbs ? He killed a Serbian police officer but he probably deserved it .

Well, atleast he wasn't I2a1b like you...... pure ancient grek ..

Serbedzija would be great actually. But it would be a slap in the face towards Adem Jashari.

Ja7ari in Arabic means the one who wounds or something. Just a note.
