Morley-DNA predicting your Y-DNA Haplogroup by scanning your autosomal data. You should just upload your zip file. Link (https://ytree.morleydna.com/extractFromAutosomal)

Do you think it's predictions are accurate? What are you thinking about my prediction?

Ethnic Background: 3/4 South Slav and my paternal grandfather is Balkan Turk. I don't know his origin, from where he came to the balkans. But his known ancestors was from Balkans too.

I have about ~6 siberia and ~2 polar in gedmatch calculators. It's weird for a person who has 3/4 south slav ancestry.

I have doubts because it says im R2a and thats a Central asian/Indian haplotype almost exclusively

IncelSlayer

To me it was very accurate, but i have a very small haplogroup tree, unlike r1b.

I mean I guess theres a chance I am R2a since I have high MeNa on every calculator and south asian on some, im waiting for my wegene results

Maternal C Northeast asia/America

It predicted my general haplogroup perfectly before I got it fully tested. It's legit

No I said high MeNa (13-20 addimg westasia, north africa, middle east..high for a normal nonmena person) and sometimes south asian shows up in certain calculators but its 1% or under

Q-M25 is mostly seen in turkmens. Q-L54 is rarer than M25 and mostly seen in siberian/uyghur/kazak people. I read that it was like that i don't know true or not.

Also yes, about %70 of pomaks mixed with turks during ottoman empire or afterwards.

Unmixed pomaks don't carry any siberian or east asia. Actually they are more slavic than bulgarians. But this situation not same in me, my pomak side carry about %8 siberia, idk its reason maybe some tatar roots. On the other hand my paternal side carry only %2, balkan turk. And i got Q-L54 haplo predict, weird. Right? Lol.

first time i saw pomaks in Greece i thought they were ukrainian tourists, until i heard their names which were muslim. anyway, idk where your Q comes from, you should test with ftdna to see your matches.

I will, thank you. I wonder how you see pomaks in greece, already just about 30.000 pomaks are living in greece and most of them living in isolated villages, on the rodope mountain.

I dont know much about them honestly. Imo both Greeks and Turks should respect their customs and culture. Most Greek people have positive opinion about them , regardless if they identify as Turks or just Pomaks.

No, i don't think so. Imo greeks usually don't like pomaks, and turks obviously. We had some problems in greece, then we had to migrate.

If those relatives are men, and you all have the same common male relative, then you will all have the same YDNA Haplogroup.

R1b1a2a1a

R1b-L11 (R1b-L151, R1b-YSC0000082)

That's what it says to me, i don't really know what it means but guess it's my Y-Haplogroup.

Red color means you exactly don't have that SNP.

It is accurate, worked well for my father and boyfriend who tested elswhere and got same result on Morley just less detailed

I don't know why are you suprised, Q haplogroup is not uncommon among Turks and it exist in other parts of Balkans in smaller amounts.

I ran my fathers raw data and mine through Morley DNA and we both got G2a. So I think its probably accurate.

Morley predicted as Q-L330. Actually Q-L54 but Q-L54 have different 2 branches, i don't have M30 SNP. (Amerindian, colored as red in Morley.) Other branch is L330. L330 usually found in Kazakhstan(6%),Russia(3%),Hungary(1%). It's most common in Siberian people's.

Turks don't have Q-L330, they have Turkmen subclade L-712(still not common, 3% in Turkey.) Balkan Turks usually score I, E, J etc etc. I didn't see any Q in my research. I collected 100 sample and there were no Q haplogroup among Balkan Turks.

So yes, i'm still surprised lol

You should be proud, it is very cool haplogroup . Recently found in lot of steppe burials, and Huns Probably Had lot of Q
Btw native Americans have high frequency of Q Haplogroup, just different branches that those in Eastern Europe and Asia.

Embrace your ancestors with pride :)

Lol thanks, i will be proud after i take y-dna test, if it is really accurate lol. Yes, L330 known as Hunnic haplogroup.

What about with others?

TribalSky

With the others it is fine. I uploaded my Ancestry gedcom and it gave me R1a-Z93 (Which is interesting as I'm English and this haplo is quite rare here and in Western Europe) I took a 23andMe YDNA test and it was more in depth and gave me Y-57 which is a downclade of Z-93.
I uploaded my 23andMe gedcom just to see what it would give me and Morley still gave me Z93 so it seems to be accurate, just not too in depth. I'd use it as a basis to get a bearing on what your YDNA is and then move from there in terms of SNPs etc.

Morley DNA predicted me E-M81 which is confirmed by both 23andMe and YSEQ in my case. So they have good predictions I think.

There was an I2 guy who got I1 when using his AncestryDNA raw data. So there have been cases where it was a little bit off.

WeirdLookingFellow

For me it predicted the Balkan sub-strain of E-V13 but I will probably take a 23andme in the next year to confirm it. Would not be surprised to see that it's correct.

Bit confused about this myself because I get R1a1a1 with Morley, but if I use the Promethease method (search for haplogroup and sort by least frequent) I get E2b1, which seems highly unlikely. R1a is the second most common haplogroup in my country, but I wonder why the Promethease method gives such a radically different result.

Zroota
12-28-2019, 12:26 AM
I got R1b-M269 as the most likely when I did the Morley test a year ago.

Now, the first result is the African BT (and the R1b ones come afterwards). Very interestingly odd.

https://i.postimg.cc/vH22Dbdb/Untitled.png

I still think it's accurate.

EDIT: Okay, I realised the above was from the EXPERIMENTAL TREE. The ISOGG one gives me a different reading with R1b first (so I probably did this one before):

https://i.postimg.cc/wTbgX1mr/Untitled.png

The question is, which is more accurate, Experimental or ISOGG?
