He's from Padova.

Some background
He formed a serial killer duo with German national W. Abel.
Between 1977 and 1984, they murdered a total of 28 people (14 in Italy, 13 in the Netherlands and 1 in Germany).
In 1991, they were both sentenced to 27 years in prison. M. Furlan was released in 2009, W. Abel in 2013.
