"In the 2nd half of the 11th century, Sicily was recaptured from the Arabs by a Norman ruler - Roger de Hauteville" - explains Sławomir Moździoch. This is not the first season of Polish researchers in Sicily. Last year, they also found burials. Scientists already know preliminary results of DNA tests carried out by Wojciech Branicki of Jagiellonian University. "These results are in line with our assumptions about northern origins of people buried here" - says Moździoch.
