Their number today is about 4000.
In 1931 there was 343 000 Germans in Vojvodina.

I think their best fit in Germany might be Southern Germany
Other than that they can pass in Hungary and probably Serbia too

Deported and left. Certainly some left because it became very hostile towards germans, the new national identity was based on defeat of fascism.

The people's looks vary, can't really shove them all into one country. I voted Romania for that reason. You will never see as much variation in any European country as you will in Romania.

Danube Schwabians were mostly by origin from southern Germany/Bavaria. They were settled in modern day Vojvodina by Maria Theresa after expatriation of Ottomans from southern parts of Habsburg monarchy. They were generally an community that was not been isolated from others, but also there was not too much mixing with others. In the end of WW2 and years after Yugoslav communists massacred them and their property.

Yes, they mostly originated from Bavaria. Some of them originated from Baden-Würrtemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
After 1718 333 German families from Mainz settled to Belgrade. When Belgrade again became part of Ottomam empire in 1739 all Germans from Belgrade escaped to Banat in Bela Crkva and Vršac.
In Vojvodina Germans were most numerous in Banat, and less numerous in Syrmia.

They were like a half of population from village that my grandma comming from. Like 20, 30 years after WW2 when situation was stabilized they started visiting their villages because of nostalgic. I guess that today their descendants don’t know much about it.

Dinarids, Alpinids, Norids, Sub-Nordids, Meds, Pontids, North Pontids, Borrebies.
Passable from Southern Germany to Serbia and Bulgaria.
As a group seem to mostly resemble Hungarians and Romanians (a lot of brachy types + some longer-skulled ones).
i guess they can pass in all of the above countries

Bloody dictator Croatian Josip Broz Tito deported Volksdeutsche from Vojvodina.
SS division "Prinz Eugen" committed brutal crimes against Serbian civilians in central Serbia, but majority of Germans in Vojvodina were not nazis.
