View Full Version : Guys, why MTDNA haplogroups are more scattered in disorder in comparison with YDNA?

For example YDNA. R1b it's Celtic, I1 Germanic, R1a, Slavic, J2 West Asian....

But MTDNA haplogroups are so spread, that you can't make association with ethnic/autosomal cluster. for example Mtdna H it's spread in all West Eurasia like U,K,J... haplogroups B,A,C.. in East Eurasia

H1+H3 seems to be the most west European anyway. check out the maps

Also a lot of French have H1 variants. Plus Viriato the Portuguese member seems to have both celtic ydna and mtdna I suppose
