Ousted from the White House, Steve Bannon is trying to help right-wing populists take power in Europe.
Steve Bannon, US President Donald Trump’s former chief strategist who now says he wants to help right-wing populists come to power in Europe, hosted the nationalist prime minister of Bosnia’s mainly Serb entity at his Washington home on Sunday, the Republika Srpska government said in a statement.
The government said Bannon and Zeljka Cvijanovic discussed relations between the United States and Republika Srpska, one of two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Fired from the White House last year, the architect of Trump’s populist campaign for president has turned his attentions to Europe with the creation of a Brussels-based foundation called The Movement to aid right-wing populists. His first target is the European Parliament election in May 2019.
The Bosnian Serb leadership has made a point of courting right-wing populists; President Milorad Dodik, a party ally of Cvijanovic, has met on several occasions with members of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally and with the leader of the Austrian far-right Freedom Party, Heinz Christian Strache, who has backed Dodik’s aim of independence for Republika Srpska.
Dodik, who counts Russia as his chief big-power ally, has long been at odds with the US and the European Union, which accuse him of trying to break apart Bosnia.
News of the meeting caused a stir in Bosnian media, which faces an election in October; those close to the Republika Srpska government stressed Bannon’s role in getting Trump elected, while others warned it was the harbinger of a ruthless campaign.
Speaking to the Republika Srpska public broadcaster, RTRS, after meeting Cvijanovic, Bannon said The Movement was designed to be a “counterweight” to liberal billionaire philanthropist George Soros, vilified by right-wing nationalists in Europe.
Civil society groups funded by Soros “work with the media, left-wing media, to be an opposition party to these populist and nationalist parties throughout Europe,” Bannon said. “All we are trying to do is to be a counterweight.”
In an interview with The Daily Beast this month, Bannon said: “Right-wing populist nationalism is what will happen. That’s what will govern.”

What I meant was that Republic of Srpska isn't even a sovereign state or in the EU so why would he want to speak with them? I also wonder what his stance is on Kosovo then.

Merkel’s centre-right CDU party polls at a record low, 29 per cent, it’s lowest ever reading in that survey. As well, Merkel’s “Grand Coalition” partner, the SPD, continued to poll at a mere 18 per cent. The SPD lost a quarter of their seats last year garnering only 20.5 per cent of the vote.
When asked in last month’s poll if Germans are happy with their country’s leadership, a trifling 21 per cent consider Chancellor Merkel’s leadership to be on par. This could very well be reflective of the reported figures that 1 in 4 Germans is of migrant background.
Her exaggerated migrant policies and what many consider to be crimes against Europe have awakened the country to the invasion of their land and involuntary departure of their people. It remains to be seen if the upcoming election will see the end to Merkel’s regime.

Id have the Srbska Republic join Serbia, do a referendum on EU, NATO, Russia, etc.
If they prefer Russia and the West is hostile then just put a Russian base somewhere in the region.

R. Srpska is Orthodox Bosnian Territory, it doesn't have a status of state or republic.
R. Srpska belongs to Bosniaks as much as to Serbs, by Constitution Serbs DO NOT have privilege over Bosniaks and Croats - so it's impossible
to say it's Serbian state, cause it isn't. It's just a place where Serbian people have wast majority.
Also many people in R.Srpska don't want to leave Bosnia for the reason they would loose access to territories in Bosnian Federation Entity.
Talks about Independence of R. Srpska or joining with Serbia are fairytales and populist propaganda by some Far-Right politicians to whom even Serbs laugh.

Well even today Serbian government that controls Serbian Academy don't recognize Catholic Serbian rulers like Stefan Vojislav and Petar III (Konsantin Bodin) because
they don't want to divide Serbian people on religious basis and because they want to remain 100% identical to Orthodox Russia.
Muslims did not have national conscious but most of them identified as Serbs cause they knew they originate from Serbian families. After being proclaimed "Turks" by the Serbs in 1980 and 1990 they created a new nation. Izetbegovic family for example is from Belgrade 100% Serbian Ottoman, but again Serbs REFUSE to recognize they participated into Ottoman Government to present themselves as someone who survived Ottoman Empire lol?
6 milion Serbs are muslims, 12 are Orthodox and 2-3 mil are Catholics.
