We all agree that Pontic is Med looking type found in the former Soviet block countries around te Pontic Sea.

But Italy is not on the Pontic sea thwrefore no Italian can be Pontic.

But Italy is not on the Pontic sea thwrefore no Italian can be Pontic.

That's where it originated from, but it can be found farther west. There are Atlantids in the Balkans too, although few in number.

And what are the differences?
Like in the field how do you differentiate a Pontic from a Meditettanean skull.

It isn't always easy, but Pontids tend to have a somewhat rounded forehead, slightly flattened nose and a their face has 'softer' appearance. They are tall, but gracile in body frame.

From this description seem Baltic/Alpine influenced or at best close to Coon’s Danubian.

But I can see see some eastern influence like Baltid and North Pontid as well.
