Thought I was posting in autosomal can anyone help me move this :)?

Hey,

I'm Soraka I also sometimes hang out on Anthroscape and plenty of people have thought with me as what might be the story here. I thought it would be interesting to hear other opinions :).
I've done a Dna test earlier this year. I was always told I was 3/4 Dutch and 1/4 Indonesian.
Although the dna test results turned out to be quite different. They are not similair to any Dutch people I've seen who at most had 1-10% dna from another region that isn't North or West europe).
There's no case of false paternity and we all have Dutch surnames etc.

My Maternal grandfather is for sure Indonesian and my Maternal grandmother has been researched by my uncle and we have roots in Germany (great-great grandfather was half German), Prussia, Poland, Russia and then our family tree began somewhere around Italy/Greece. Idk if any of this besides the German happened in the recent 500 years, but I can assume so since my dna results indicate it.

But on my father's side I have hit dead end. He doesn't know his father and I can't go that far on his mother's side. His family originates from the Noord-Brabant region which is why I assume strong Iberian ties which I don't think most people from Noord-Brabant have.(mistaken by myheritage as Italian). I also assume my unknown paternal grandfather might have been from southeastern turkey, kurdish or the levantine region.

Can anyone interpret as to which countries these results could be linked to and what would historically make sense as well?

It looks like your family's blood is mostly from Southern Europe and Asia with a little African.

The Turkish in the second picture could be from your dad, like you mentioned.

Your family history seems to be correct regarding your Indonesian ancestry, as all the calculators report you having around 25% of ancestry from that area. Your Middle Eastern and Central Asian ancestry likely comes from a Turkish or Iranian ancestor. Either way you score very little Northern Europe indicating that your non-Indonesian ancestors were assimilated into Dutch society.

Duplicate post. This thing keeps giving me database errors.

Thanks for the comment :)
Only Myheritage gives me North African which I think is true could be linked to the Southern European part or maybe sephardic Jewish. I think it's more likely West Asian and that my unknown paternal grandfather might have been a Turkish immigrant. My maternal side has no such ancestry, her side is really well documented even the Indonesian is pretty well documented as far as 1500.

Yeah the Indonesian is the only thing that turned out to be anything like I know. I think my paternal grandfather might have been from that area (turkey, iran). Might get my dad or brother tested if anything similair shows up or for any Y-Dna clues. Strangely enough all of my family has been skeptical of this (If anyone is Dutch it's your dad, your grandmother is for sure Dutch etc). It's understandeable as it's probably been so long ago.

I'm mainly looking into historical events that could explain this. Like the only event I know of Iberians migrating into the Netherlands is the Spanish occupiation of the Netherlands.

I should do more genealogical research anyway.
