Bretons are closer to Finns than Serbs, Serbs are closer the Finns than Southern French and the remaining French are more or less the same distance as Serbs.

I'm closer to Finns than Spanish so I would say Northern French are closer to Finns than Serbs. French people can just do Gedmatch and see what they get.

"East French" are slightly closer to Finns than Serbs which are slightly closer to Finns than "French", but overall the distances are very similar, which is why I said roughly the same.

Serbs may score more "East Euro"/"Baltic" but they also score more in components like "East Med" and "West Asian" which pulls them away. In terms of actual ancestral populations this translates into lower WHG ancestry (Balkan farmers were identical to Anatolian Farmers whilst French Farmers had a lot of WHG ancestry) and higher Anatolia_BA/Anatolia_Chl mediated CHG rich ancestry.
