In Bulgaria Asian influence in the most common in northeastern Bulgaria. In area where proto-Bulgarian settled.
Proto-Bulgarians were originaly Turkic people from central Asia, but on the way to the Balkans they stayed for a while near Caucasus and absorbed some Caucasian tribes. In northeastern Bulgaria there is a high % of some non-European branch of G2.
Western Bulgarians are more Slavic looking on average the eastern ones.
