Hi everyone,
I need some clarifications about Gedmatch. I am now aware that aside from the italian, 7% of my DNA is Germanic, some is iberian, scandinavian and british as well. I have several matches from Germany, England and Sweden. On my matches list I have mostly italians and germans, some albanian and spanish as well. With one of my matches (who seems to be mostly german) I have a total half match segments of 21 cm which we share in two segments. Estimated genetic distance is about 4.7. This is what I have when I set the Minimum segment cM size to 7. As I change the minimum segment cM size to 3, it says that our matches are found in all 22 chromosomes. What does it mean? Why does it happen? Does it suggest that we share many of our distant ancestors?
Thank you
