According to 23andme I score a higher Italian percentage. On 23andme Romanians score between 0-5%. Do I have some Roman/Italian ancestry or it's just an error?

At 11% it's surely not an error, though the exact percentage has to be taken with some grain of salt. It also does not mean that you have an Italian ancestor in your recent lineage, like a great-grandparnent; instead (to me) it is more likely that numerous of your distant ancestors had significant Italian gene contribution, which has been passed down to you. Romans colonized Dacia, of course, and Romanian as you know is a Latin language, so the cultural and genetic connection between Italy and Romania is well-known.

Well, I do not know if it's only Greek. In general Greeks score Balkan percentage, not Italian on 23andme, but maybe I am wrong.

may be some non better classified italian subgroup/ or greek subgroup that was common more in the past than now

I've noticed even pure blooded Greeks tend to register a not-insignificant amount of Italian genes on 23andme. Usually varies from 10-30% based on what I have seen (obviously depends on a lot of factors).

My Italian score went up by four as well, which makes me think maybe the test is probably mixing Balkan up with Italian? And I don't think I have any Italian ancestry.

yep, that'll happen when you have Romany ancestry, brother... In the same way calculators may interpret Ashkenazi and Italian from the West Asian mix, of course your Romanian heritage may explain the high Italian. I have no Jewish, Italian or Romanian heritage.

Romanian @15.93, that's a huge distance and not a good fit. In a PCA you're quite distant from the Romanian cluster.

What do you have against being part Gypsy!?!?

But to answer your thread question, don't all Romanians share some amount of Italian DNA anyway?

I have my personal reasons. I do not have any Romani relatives. Some does, but not as high as me. Around 3-5%.

No one in Central and Southeast Europe wants to have anything to do with the Gypsies since they are the worst group of people out there.

I was kind-of joking with Impaler, he seems to show a lot of evidence he might be partial Roma but h obviously is hoping not. He may not be, and I don't want to really offend him...

I'm very aware of the feelings toward Gypsies. I hate to admit it, but the fact is when I first visited the Balkans in the 1990s, I tried to convince myself I wasn't partial Roma, either. But I eventually got over it...
