Why some Italians, despite never having had contacts with Carthaginians and Saracens, are genetically related to North Africans?

I thought about it, but it seems a little unlikely that this is the only answer.
Perhaps being Naples the capital of the kingdom of the two Sicilies, from Palermo many people have migrated to Campania, and then to the rest of the south?

Curiously, outside Sicily and northern Puglia, where some Sicilian Muslims were sent, one study identified the increased presence of genetic markers related to the Saracens in Campania.

Shared 'Sardinian'/West-Med Dna from Anatolian Neolithic farmers. Probably no direct relation but are related because this ancient ethnic group eventually became a prominent part of both their genetic makeups
