Here's what I ate the other day , and this is usually typical for me. Estimated 2300 calories.
Note: Some times I eat less than this, and sometimes a bit more, depending on whether I exercised.

Breakfast: (11 AM)
3 fried eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 1 piece of toast
1 glass of milk
1 bowl of grits

Dinner: (around 3 pm)
2 turkey burgers with cheese on 2 hamburger buns
1 cup of steamed mixed vegetables
1 sweet tea

Snack: 1 cup of nuts 1/2 cup of cubed cheese 1 apple
1 protein bar

Supper:
1 burrito with rice. 1 cup of steamed vegetables
1 baked potato with butter
1 tbsp of non -fat greek yogurt

Dessert: 1 frozen yogurt bar, 3 cookies

A good menu, quite healthy.
You do not eat soup at all? In Russia it is believed that this is the most important food.

Honestly that's way too much dairy for an adult male. Ditch the butter, too, use olive oil instead. Make sure the turkey is 99% lean. I think the best diet is Vegan plus fish/lean proteins, if that makes sense. (Not vegetarian because too much dairy, not vegan because not enough protein).

Never Vegan for me. That is a cult religion of sorts. We need meat. I do have too much dairy. That is one thing I have to cut back on.

I rarely eat soup. It has a lot of sodium too. I need a low sodium diet.

Sometimes I eat only a plate of soup and tea with something sweet for the whole day.
It is useful to give the body some time to rest from food:thumb001:.

Not so good..Breakfast in particular is lacking; grits are OK, milk is maybe OK (not what I normally drink). Fried eggs every day is not so great though IMO. Bacon itself is horrible for you, but a slice isn't bad just because it is pretty low in calories. Ham is the healthiest breakfast meat by a solid margin, of the traditional American breakfast meats.

Lunch: Sweet tea is extremely sugary, which you know. I used to be addicted to it when I lived in South Carolina though. Turkey burgers may or may not be decent, depending on the specifics. They vary a lot. I don't find them very filling.

Snack: Seems decent, although cheese is high in saturated fat.

Dinner: Veggies are good; what's in the burrito? Generally not the best for you. Baked potato is OK, but sweet potatoes are much healthier. Greek yogurt is extremely healthy, but why only 1tbsp? That is nothing!

Dessert: Frozen yogurt bars are not bad; what kind of cookies?

Overall, I'd say the biggest issue with your diet is it is too high in sugar and saturated fat (perhaps trans fat too). I'd probably eat more nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, most types are solid), seeds (sunflower seeds have very healthy fats), and try to eat more whole grain stuff. Could still eat more veggies too. But I'm always a grazer.

The average male needs 2,000 calories a day and the average woman needs at least 1500. That's more than two meals.

Seems like a large amount of food. On my job I walk about 10km daily, and I eat less than half of this.

It's a good diet, just seems like large portions.

I'm probably having 2600 calories. Because of my slow metabolism, that's still too much for me.

For breakfast, you're eating way too much cholesterol and animal protein, bro. Bacon is literally the worst kind of animal fat. Also, sweet tea is packed with sugar, empty calories and carbs you don't need.

Also, two turkey burgers along with the buns (empty carbs) and two cheese slices? Why two?

Cut back on the butter. Big time.

Okay. I'm trying to get in as much protein as I can. That's why I was eating more bacon. I don't have bacon every day, though. I also have two turkey burgers to get more protein well. I need to get at least 100 grams a day.

I think I put on weight again because of Chick Fil A. Some times twice a week because I work there. It has a lot of sodium. I was having their fried chicken sandwich and big waffle fries with a sweet tea. I don't have near enough vegetables, and I don't drink enough water. I also have irritable bowel syndrome. I'm taking pro biotics, b12 vitamins, and drinking lots of water.

That's not actually too bad however I'd cut on the carbs bro and it will be much healthier.

It is interesting to see how the perception of what is a healthy diet can change so much from one country to another. Nearly everything that you ate throughout the day would be considered unhealthy or fast-food here in Portugal.

If you want to loose weight then you should avoid white bread, that includes your toast and burger buns. If you can not live without bread then replace it with German brown bread at least.

For breakfast I would eat oats, I like mine with oat milk or coconut milk. If you find the flavour to be bland you can add some red fruit to it, preferably fresh if you have it available or you can always buy it frozen.

If you want to eat eggs in the morning it is fine, get a good non-stick pan and do scrambled egg whites without butter, oil or any other fat source. Since you are worried about your sodium intake do not use salt, use instead black pepper or any other spice\herbs that you like. Natural fresh juice or a cup of coffee is also fine if you want to.

You said that there are days where you feel without appetite in the morning. Sometimes I feel as well, so I just have a smoothie. You will have to find one that you like and suits your goals. Personally my favourite one is pretty simple, one liter of water, 100 grams of spinach, one banana, 2-3 dates, I blend it all together and I am ready to go. It won't taste like spinach by the way.

Forget the burgers and the burritos. I am inclined to believe that you are not preparing and cooking your own meals? Are they pre-made\frozen or you order them from a restaurant? Preparing your meals ahead is the best way to avoid mistakes and you will know for sure what they are made of.

Protein bars are one of the worst snacks you can have. It is really terrible, just check the nutritious values of them. If you want a practical snack high on protein you are better off with a can of tuna fish or a Scandinavian yoghurt like skyr.

If you have a craving for something sweet then eat a piece of dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa or add more fruit into your diet instead of cookies.

I didn't get why you think that soups are high on sodium to be honest, unless they are really different from the ones we do in Portugal. Most of our soups are nothing more than water, vegetables, legumes, a pinch of salt and a dash of olive oil. I have seen on foreign cooking channels soups that have butter, cheese, flour or sour cream on them (xD), all of that sounds really weird to me, are those ingredients that are commonly used on American soups?

I usually want to have more protein in my diet. I agree about protein bars being bad. I don't think bread matters. I'm simply having too much to eat. I probably also can skip breakfast, since I'm never hungry when I get up.
