Trump is on survival mode. I don't believe in a so called deep state but I do believe that groups (whether CIA, FBI, corporations, political parties, etc.) have their interests and don't like it when someone fucks with their interests. Trump wasn't the man woth moral fiber to taken on groups with their own interests in mind and so now he's overwhelmed with attacks and to be honest many of the attacks have justification. He's got skeletons in his closet.

Here is a shocker: If you thought that the number one priority of the "Deep State" was to get rid of Trump, then you need to think again. WRONG!

As much as the leftists and elite globalists want to get rid of Trump, there is something they desire even stronger... much stronger, in fact. And that is, getting rid of Vladimir Putin's Russia. By any and all means necessary. Which is what they are trying to do all the time, if you notice what is happening in the news. And, they seem to think that military conflict with Russia is necessary. Hence, we see a scenario unfolding here, where the "Deep State" would rather get into conflict with Russia, than get rid of Trump... if they had to pick one of the options. There is clear evidence for that:

If they want, they could have Trump impeached already... for unjustly bombing Syria in April, when the "chemical attack" was actually not perpetrated by Assad's Syria, but was a hoax perpetrated by the CIA-affiliated terrorists in Syria. So, they could have used all their media propaganda mouthpieces, like CNN, NYT, etc etc to push this narrative. But they didn't and wouldn't. Because winning Syria from Russia's hands is more important to them than finishing Trump!

Also, all the domestic pressures being put on Trump seems to be to try and push him to go to war with Russia. They are either pushing him in that direction "naturally", or they could even be literally blackmailing him to do that. But it's happening. And it seems Trump would have to go to war with Syria/Russia/Iran in order to free himself from the constant, neverending domestic harassment.

The economy in the 70s (mid to late) was poor because of OPEC. It got so bad there were lines of cars to get gas. All those pics the Rusky posts in his thread come from the late 70s and early 80s. That time was bad in every way (relatively speaking).

Will give a C grade to the presidents less/not involved in war, and those who tried to preserve social conservative values. The rest were bad.
Politicians do lie but they are also surrounded by many groups with their own interests, and thus lots of pressure on the president.
Occasionally if they go off policy they get shot.

If Trump barks to please some people, but avoids a war that would be nice.

Also the transition period from Keynesian to Neoliberalism afaik. And like you said there was that oil problem and stagnation.
