I looked it up. Germanic Europe covers numerous counties: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgian, Netherlands and parts of northern Italy, Czech republic, Poland and France.

Its basically the same as the French and German category on 23andme.

You have to use other calculators to break it down further.

Yes it does, because Gilman is not a Jewish name. They were originally French, called "Gilliam" who became Gilmans during the Norman Conquest, and were in Colonial Virginia. The Jew part (if any) probably came from my father's side.

With which raw data? Both 23andme and ancestryDNA? In these separate tests (Gedmatch, global 25, etc) is where you're going to find more specific information. You seem interested in finding your NA ancestry so I dont know why you're not taking advantage of all the options out there.

They aren't genetically similar in any way lol, Ashkenazi Jews plot with other Jews such as Sephardic Jews and sometimes Sicilians whilst Cherokees are just like other Amerindians. Shem wasn't real but kl...

Shem was very real. There is some similar sampling of Cherokee Indians in particular with mediterranean influences. Many Cherokee indians are getting Ashkenazi showing up on the tests. Race mixing was probably involved.

I suspect his father (of German, and Eastern/Central European descent) is 1/8 Jewish.
