The archaeologist's team believes it is a settlement built in the second half of the 6th century BC and has been inhabitable until the 3rd century BC.

The ruins of an ancient settlement have been discovered in the Albanian city of Divjaka. Albanian and German archaeologists have been working for several months in the remains of those believed to be residential houses, perimeter walls, and roads. The aim of the project is to create a map of Albania.

"What we are trying to understand is who lived here between Apollonia and Dyrrah and who built this settlement. Babunja in Divjaka has been selected among many others and for the first time we do scientific research here. The urban organization of this hilly countryside is perfect. The main road and 15 smaller ones that are linked to the right angle with it, "said Manuel Fidler - an archaeologist at the University of Berlin.

Excavations in Divjaka are being carried out in the hilly part of the area. The excavations in the Arnisa settlement will continue during the following months.

If only they would test the DNA of potential skeletons in the settlement

I believe they would cluster with Albanians as what the ancient Illyrian samples had shown.
