Hannibal ad portas!

One of my favorite Generals ever. He really made the mercenary mentality work very effectively. The fact he mastered such a cosmopolitan force in his day and age is a true testament to his military brilliance.

Seen these site before. It claims the modern Lebanese are Caanites and Phoencians and not Arabic although they actually are in culture.

Modern Lebanese could be partially related to Canaanites since Arabic blood now flow within many Lebanese. I don't really believe modern Lebanese are of pure blood and the more lighter-skinned, eyed Lebanese often have Crusader blood.

Hannibal and Carthage was some sort of wonder certainly to be marveled about for Hannibal's military genius which nearly brought Rome to its knees.

It's a shame that Rome destroyed many traces of Carthaginan civilization after the conquest of Carthago. All remains today is a mixture of Arabic and French civilization in wretched Tunis.
