This one also has a North/West European influence but is also more MENA than average.

Then again there is no record of location of ancestry for one of the grandparents. So they could be north Italian for all we know. But 3 grandparents are from Palermo.

Europe: 69.0%

Southern Europe: 56.0%
Greek: 38.4%
Sardinian: 13.6%
Italian: 4.0%

North and West European: 13.0%
Scandinavian: 6.5%
North and West European: 6.5%

Middle East: 17.8%
North Africa: 11.9%
Nigeria: 1.3%

Why only 4% Italian?

So MyHeritage has Sicilians closer to Greeks or what?

They score usually a mixture of Italian, Sardinian, Greek, and various Near Eastern and North African groups.

How did you score?

Sardianian is more of an ancient thing? Aren't they like a very unique European ethnic group?

Something around 77% Greek, 12% West Asian, 6% Ashkenazi I believe

Your result is close to how some mainland southern Italians score. Apulia and whereabouts.

What I notice is in the Sicilian results, the Middle East, West Asian and North African is widespread (it's lower in Syracuse though) across the island, while the Greek, Italian, and Sardinian have some patterns as to where they are found most or rather, which one predominates.

That sounds more like my sister-in-law, who is Greek. Her results are something like 50% Greek, 24% Balkan, 16% North/West Europe, 7% North Africa, 5% Middle East, 2% West Asian

Balkan almost never appears for Sicily. In fact, N/W European is rare too, this person is an exception.

Ya that makes sense. She's Greek anyway, not Sicilian

Which region is she from? Also if you have her GEDMatch results I would be interested to see.
