Guglielmo Marconi (aka William Marconi, as he was known by English-speakers of his time) was an Italian inventor with a father from Emilia-Romagna and a mother from Britain.

The mother was from Ireland and she was 50% irish and 50% Italian.

His mother was actually Irish and born in County Wexford not in Britain although both her parents were Scots as far as I'm aware. She was part of the Jameson Irish Whiskey family.

I'd say even overall. In some photos he looks more North Italian and others more British.

Fairly even. Perhaps a bit more British

The mother was 100% British, didn't have a drop of Irish or Italian blood.

She was born in Ireland, but was Scottish and English.

It makes no sense to bring birthplace into a discussion about where someone could pass.

John McCain wasn't Panamanian, George Romney wasn't Mexican, and Marconi's mother wasn't Irish.

Apparently Marconi spoke English fluently with a British accent.

North Italian, but he would fit better in Britain than in south Italy.
