Are Sicilians closer autosomally to turks or south slavs

They are not nearly enough BaltoSlavic/Steppe/NE European to be close to South Slavs, with the possible exception of Bulgaria which they are only slightly more similar to Turks than to Bulgarians. They are definitely not close to Serbs, Croats, or Bosnians, at all.

It might not be the case for all of Sicily but for people around Palermo they are closer to Turks on average. Here are the results for my 3 closest Sicilian relatives... you can see in general how they come up. In essence they are roughly equidistant between Turks, Lebanese, and Bulgarians, but much further from other Balkan Slavs.

Put in context another way, Sicilians are as close to Libyan Jews (who are essentially descended from Hebrews mixed with converted pre-Arab Egyptians, Berbers, and some back-migrated Sephardim) as they are to Thessalian Greeks. This should demonstrate how they cannot possibly be close to Balkan Slavs, except Bulgaria/Macedonia who have the least NE European of all Slavs.

Still not enough NE European. They would be closer to Bulgaria but not Serbia/Croatia.

Those "Sicilian West" and "Sicilian East" samples are not representative for the entire island and you should stop posting them. They are a Trapanese sample for West (which is an extreme north/west shifted outlier) and somewhere like Syracuse for East (which is also an outlier, toward mainland Greeks).

Most of Sicily does not plot similar to Trapani or Syracuse.
