Yiayia is VERY happy with this.

Caucasus 3%

I think this confirms my mum has no South East Asian ancestry, but somehow more and less accurate at the same time. Neither me or my mum can believe she has any Central or Western Indian ancestry.
Previous results:
Mum
Asia
76% Asia South
21% Asia East
Pacific Islander
2% Polynesia
1% Melanesia

Some island Greeks on the new update are finding they are mostly Italian. Clearly, this is not the case for Peloponnesians despite being the most "southern" plotting mainlanders.

What I find most interesting is that my dad's initial results had a higher Greece, Turkey and Albania percentage than my grandma but his updated results were only 92% Greece and the Balkans.

What about the other 8%?

My dad's results were updated a couple months back though, I am assuming this is the same update.
Before the update he was this:
92% Greece, Turkey and Albania
5% Eastern Europe
2% European Jewish
<1% Europe West

I really don't think Turkey should be grouped with Greece and Albania.

Lol I agree but I am pretty sure that was how they labelled it.
Originally it was "Italy/Greece", then "Greece, Turkey and Albania" and now "Greece and the Balkans".

They should do "South Italy and Aegean islands" or something as one label and do "Greece/Albania" as another.

Maybe they can't do that, I'd love them and 23andme to give us more information in how they determine what DNA markers belong to which groups and how they came up with the group.

cool results. your grandma is pure greek and mom is pure indian. These new results look quite accurate but for south asia the split does look a bit funky. The gujarati split is nonsense since there's one gujarati dude on AS and he gets 2% more western/central indian than me at 36%. So with that logic your mom is more gujarati than an actual gujarati lol. I'd just ignore the sub components tbh but her overall being full south asian makes sense.

What I wonder though, the old results, maybe the non-South Asian percentages could've represented Veddid DNA or something.
It seems so odd, I thought Malayalis would be very different to Gujaratis, since they are regarded as North Indians. I would love to know the origins of the population reference samples for Western and Central Indian.
