Some people say that they are not genetically Arabs but they are Semiticised natives. On the other hand, some people say that they have noot been different from Gulf Arabs but since they have received considerable immigrants from Balkans and Caucasus, crusaders from Western Europe, after melting the genes which have come from Western Europe, Balkans and the Caucasus, their overall genetic structure has changed drastically.

What do you think about it?

They are mostly pre-Arab Semites, mixed with some degree of Arabian and, in some cases, West European input from the Crusades which is very minor.

Both Syrians and Lebanese score overall 11-12 percent Atlantic admixture.

They usually score more Caucasian admixture than they score Southwest Asian admixture.

That doesn't mean it is recent.
