These 10 are either all Balkan or all Iberian. Which is it?

And if you think you have it narrowed down, try and guess the country (yes, it IS somewhat possible to discern Spain or Portugal from one another)

It would surprise me these people being Iberian...

Balkan.

And discern among the Balkan nations? ;)

Lol.

Well every phenotype you'll find in one nation is present in the other, but certain types seem more prevalent in Spain and others in Portugal etc.

Excluding partly the eurybrachymorphic tendencies of 2,3 & 5, they look East Mediterranid, a variant brought in with various trends, most certainly Phoenician and Greek settlements and probably Neolithic farmers, as well as old Taurid admixture giving a similar phenotype, and the general variance of features like straighter vs curved eyebrows, shape of the eyes, etc. As a group they'd fit in only in the Balkans (and in a way somewhat less there too because of how South Europid they are), but as individuals any could be from Spain; given the upset angle of the game, I'm going to guess the latter.

But it's funny that you said 'between Spain and Portugal'. The differences (or better said 'more frequent appearances') are distinguished between certain Iberian areas -not really corresponding to political divisions.

Well, Portugal is on the extreme western end of the Iberian peninsula, so the common looks in Portugal are the ones most found in western Iberia (which includes parts of Spain) obviously. But in all seriousness there is a look that I think of as distinctly Portuguese.

Maybe i'm too confident, but they look very Iberian to me.People from the Balcans tend to have slightly triangular faces and the ears are different.

You must be too confident indeed to ever think that. In the overall I don't see there any distinct Iberian look.

Well, it's not like it would be impossible to get East Mediterranid Iberians and post only them in a thread such as this. It would only be far unlikely if it was a group picture, not selected individuals.

If this is any hint.. the pics were not cherry-picked or meant as a trick.

I agree, that even though portuguese are the closest looking to spaniards, there is still some distinctiveness, that only us can be aware of, obviously for a european we are exactly the same.

Agreed.

An example are these women, both of whom look more Portuguese than Spanish to me although they could obviously fit very well in Spain too.

Meanwhile both of these Spanish men, while they could be Portuguese, fit best in Spain.

Well, for example Baskids are a type that fit well in Spain and southern France but not as much in Portugal.
