You can try MorleyDNA. A free service.

If you want to take a Y-DNA test then you can take FTDNA's Big-Y or YSEQ.

It's a common subclade of I2a-Y3120 and frequently found among Slavs. It is found among South Slavs as well as other Slavic groups. https://www.yfull.com/tree/I-S17250/

I tried Morley, it gave me two different subclade and kind of confused me.

I'll probs try this big-Y from FTDNA after I sort the ancestrydna test out and have some more money.

There's like 4 different tests ranging from 169 to 649usd is the most expensive one necessary?

Is it worth taking any of these more detailed tests if I wish to get it anymore specific? Don't want to spend 100s of quid if it isn't worth it.

I don't think you need to but if you want to find out your subclade of S17250 and see what specific group you match, then I would suggest testing further.

It's younger Vinča and Lepenski Vir haplogroup clade evolved in the last 2000 years in Poland and Belarus, but originally from Serbia.

Serbian conquerors colonized most of Europe and spread it everywhere before it got crushed by Indo-Europeans.

Of total I2a1b2a1 among Dalmatians Serbs Din-S (PH908) is about 50%, and Din-N (CTS10228) is also abut 50%.

There is one CTS10228 from native village of ayetooey's father. But you are right, he is most likely PH908.

Two cousins of mine, one from the village next to mine on the west, the other from the village next to mine on the east, both got their 23andMe back and both got I-S17250. They have different surnames, but both their surnames are very, very common in Livno. I think it's safe to assume that they're both PH908 which is very, very high among Croatians from West Hercegovina, SW Bosnia, and the Dalmatian Hinterland.

Cool. I2-PH908 seems to be the highest in the Serbs of Dalmatia and Herzegovina also, but not to the high levels of Croats from Herzegovina. One of my Y dna matches is a Croat with a Herzegovinian surname.

Cool! My Ukrainian grandma's brother just got a DNA test unexpectedly and he ended up having I-S17250 =) I'm hoping to learn more about it! I'm very interested in what people here have discovered. Sorry to revive the dead thread though xD
