I follow military history and quite avidly, due to my many friends who are veterans or service members, and the Special Operations community recently has been saddened by the death of Maj. General Sidney Shachnow, who was a major figure in the Army Green Berets with 3 tours in Vietnam. He was born in Lithuania to Jewish family, which would suggest full Ashkenazi ancestry though it may have been influenced by mixing with local populations somewhere back in the family tree. He doesn't look Baltic though, nor stereotypically Ashkenazi. If I had to guess his ancestry just on his phenotype I'd say maybe a mix of German and Greek.

My classification guess would be Alpine+CM+minor Dinarid. Am I close?
