Neolithic have been closest to today's Semitic people.
Proto Europeans (I mean, Europeans before Aryan and Neolithic immigration) have been closest to today's Germanic people.
Proto Aryans have been closest to today's Baltic people.

If I am wrong, people correct me.

Genetically, the Neolithic farmers from Europe and Anatolia were genetically closest to Sardinians. Today people from the Baltic states carry the most WHG admix.

Which modern population do you think Aryan people have been genetically closest to?

PIE peoples seem to have plotted closest to northern Europeans, most NE Europeans. Though they weren't exactly NE European genetically, they were a mix of EHG and CHG.

Baltic peoples have lot of siberian admixture.
Most of this Siberian admixture seems to have come with steppe input and not from a separate migration from Siberia. Though in the case of Estonians and the Finnish this is different.
