Hello,
I'm a bit puzzled by some of the regions mentioned in my report. For ie, I got Brittany (I have no known ancestry there. But MH gives me 27% English) and a lot of North Italian (no known ancestry there, if you omit a ggp from Savoie, so pretty close to N.Italy). As far as Campania (50% of my ancestry), it is virtually absent. NE France has been picked up though, so that part is accurate. I'm not sure what to think of it. Do you think that this report "fits" someone of (documented) NE French - S. Italian descent? Thanks!

But in nMonte with penalization=0 you have Malta, Sicilia, Sardinia, even Algeria. And yes one north Italian regions. I think nMonte divided your Campania ancestry into two more contrasting ancestral parts (but more weight was on southern side). Sometimes it works in such way.

Overall your average similairity as half NE-French / half Campanian is to NW-Italy.

Ftdna, then uploaded my raw data to Gedmatch and sent the K36 results to Lukasz. I've ordered a 23andme test recently as it's supposed to be more exhaustive and accurate.

That is interesting. Thanks for your clarifications Lukasz. I'm a newbie here so pardon my possibly dumb question, but does the "Brittany (15)" in nMonte3 with penalization 0 mean I may have unknown ancestors from Brittany, or is it just speculative/interpreted as "Brittany" when it might not be, strictly/geographically speaking?
