Do purple eyes exist?

Some people say they exist. Others disagree. The source below says only 600 people in world have purple eyes. I’ve never seen anyone with violet eyes before. Do you think they exist ?

They were blue, not purple. Relatives knew her. Her "purple" eyes were nothing more than an illusion, a trick, made by makeup, clothing color, lighting and/or angle.

Blue (or light) eyes have a tendency to "change color" depending on the colors around. Example, blue eyes may become blue-green if the person wears a green shirt.
