I see a pattern in NW Albanians (Montenegro / NW Albanians) which shows a western shift off of the standard albanian plotting point. GEDmatch plotting can be inaccurate sometimes but here is my LM K36 which shows this.

If this is really a thing, is it due to italo/venetian admix?

Doubtful, probably just genetic variations among Albanians.

From my knowledge of the region I will say this: Yes Malesors have had interactions with Venetians/Northern Italians before (the influence of the catholic church is well known there) however they kept to the coast and the only real Italians to mess around in those areas were most likely priests. Maybe maybe there was a bit of intermarriage just because of the religious aspect, but I think there's some deeper undercurrent to this that isn't just Venetian influence.

I am an Albanian from Montenegro and my results were a bit more western shifted too. Possible just individual variation or based on a slightly higher % of upper paleolithic vs neolithic genes or vice versa.
