I just got sent it, and it's a lot of stuff to read! Quite confusing, and the dude who did it believes I am less than 50 percent British which is interesting, anyone wanna try analyse my results?

Cool. What's your known ancestry?

Some populations may act as mid points.

Cool. What's your known ancestry?

1/8 Scottish, 3/8 England (but with one grandmother with a German surname) and 1/2 Dalmatian Serb. I am convinced there is something more, as I plot quite to the south for my mix. Part of the reason I've done ancestrydna.

Some of the populations you got on that test are right in the middle your main ehtnicites.

Bosniaks shift slightly NW of Serbs.

Bosniaks shift slightly NW of Serbs.

They separate "Western Serbs" from Serbs on this calculator, so I plot closer to Bosniaks than Western Serbs lol.

55/45 split between populations close to your ancestral populations is close enough though

Look on map you are just sligthly shifted north to Slovenia, Austria and some southern German regions. But Slovenia is third on the list.
I know you are sure of your 50% British but it should pull you more north than just Slovenia...

In your British part must be sth continental. I don't know French, south German maybe? You have your parents tested?

You are definitely correct. I have plotted with Slovenia on other maps which is defo quite South for my mix, you believe it is my British side that is more south shifted, not my Balkan side?

In nMonte you had 50% Slovenia when I removed midpoint Germans. So your Balkan part is pretty definied. Its British which looks messy.

I did recently test for Irish + Romanian person and he was little more NW on map than you.

Interesting. Well I have a great-grandparent with a German surname, and I get French as a match on the new 23andme ancestry system, but other than that I know little past great-grandparents for my mothers side, she is 1 quarter Scottish 3 quarters English in theory, so interesting I am pulled to the south somehow, hopefully ancestrydna will shed some light on this when I get my results lol.

I get 2 percent South Asian on Gedmatch, could that be legit DNA from my mothers side perhaps? lol. I could imagine that would skew things a little if so.

It doesn't matter in your case. Too small.

Great result. Pretty similar to mine but you are slightly more east shifted I think. Bayern and Swiss German seem to be a genetic midpoints for us.

Yup. Interesting where I plot, you are the Irish/Romanian I am guessing? If so In theory I should be way to the North West of you so it is interesting how I am not, I must have something in me dragging me to the South-East lol! Or you're more North shifted somehow.

Because Serbs have a lot of Med blood.

Yeah, I'm half Romanian and half Irish. According to Ancestry DNA, I have 13% "Germanic Europe" (and a tiny bit of French) on my Romanian side so I'm probably more north shifted than the typical Romanian.

I should have my ancestrydna results tomorrow, I feel I will get a lot more southern european than usual for someone half Serb.

Not really med blood as much. Illyrian/vlach admixture, depending on region. On targeted Nmonte 3 Albanian Fryom is 14.2 for me that's probably representative of paleo-balkan admixture I have, all Balkan slavs have this to different extents.

I'm reading your report, and I've noted in the targeted 2 way dodecads, with mine being Britain + West Balkan as ref pops, and yours British + Romanian, your closest match is 2.7, mine is 7.9 loool, so I am defo the atypical one I think :p.

I also notice we are in the same triangle for in the Multivariate Statistics Section. In the triangle, you are closer to Austria and I'm closer the Swiss. I'd like to know what this triangle, which appears to be made up of south Germanic populations, is supposed to represent. Maybe LukaszM can tell us.

I also notice on the Correlation Map that you have a stronger connection to North Slavic countries than I do. I think you are a bit more Slavic than I am so it pulls you east. I seem to have a weak connection to both North Slavs (Russians, South Baltic Counties) and South Italy-Sicily.
