You mean people who took out mortgages have to be responsible adults? No one forces a mortgage on anyone. It's called being responsible. I have no sympathy for someone who doesn't do their homework on mortgages and other financial dealings. It's not hard to break down whether you have the financial means to handle a mortgage if the economy hits the shitter.

It's the flaw of both banks (in that they made absurd offers) and the people but if you can't be an adult and be aware of your financial limits then it's best you do get fucked so you don't have children. We shouldn't help fools for being fools. It'll simply allow for more foolishness. There has to be consequences for poor decisions.

I had this conversation with my mother not long ago about many people in Spain playing with mortgage rates instead of looking for fixed rates. If you're ignorant of what you're getting into financially then don't get yourself into it and if you do and get fucked you have to be a big boy/girl and bite the bullet.

The problem with the Western world today is people not wanting to suffer consequences when they fuck up. People are more likely to curb their risk taking when they know they could potentially suffer for fucking up.

No!! problem comes because the last week the Spanish justice got a sentence that forced to banks to pay the taxes (people here has nothing to do) and at the next day (at the next day!) the Supreme Court intervened saying they should look better and dictamine if that was correct. It is evident that the bank pressed them.
Of course, we have seen this pressure has worked properly :rolleyes:

This is a shame, and if you like to blame the people, ok, but the problem are the politicians and ofc, the bank, plus the "justice".

I would agree with everything you said if the rules and laws were applied and implemented equally and for all. The problem is that they don't. When common people fuck up as in the case of the home loan takers they do indeed suffer the consequences.

When multi billion companies and their managers fuck up, the companies are bailed out and their managers get millions of dollars in compensations.

Berids have round faces and/or heads and small noses while that barely happens among Africans, who highlight for their long faces/heads and long/aquiline noses.
