Not at all. I am basing it on the overall structural appearance/feature/balance, not merely skin tone. You might be lighter than typical alpine-med, but that is what I see. I also see a minor Baltid quality as well. This is only an opinion and I don't claim any form of expertise in this medium.

I think you might know from seeing me post about it but her region of Sicily received Greek input after Slavs had mixed with Greeks, which means that there is actually Slavic admixture in that part of Sicily.

There is a study confirming statistically significant Greek y-dna in the region (the towns of Syracuse, Santa Croce Camerina, Lentini, and Augusta were sampled) and on GEDmatch you can see them modeled as 90% Sicilian, 10% Russian for instance.

It's not coloring but facial structure. Most Sicilians are not robust in their facial structure. The southeast of Sicily has more of these types as do some parts of the mainland south though.

Either way she is very pretty and Sicily is lucky to have her.

I have been to Sicily and you are at least a typical in the spectrum of 20-30%

I find this look to be Phoenician/Canaanite-like and I find it much more in the inland regions and west but I think because you don't look like this is why people might say you don't look Sicilian. But as I have said, I don't think of this look as being from your part of the island, so to someone from Syracuse or Ragusa, this might NOT be how you think of Sicilians.

My whole family looks like this, though. We come from Messina and a few towns outside of Palermo -- Carini, Capaci, and Isola delle Femmine.

I think Ragusa might be marginally more "Middle Eastern" than Syracuse is, but overall Ragusa has historically been an extension of Syracuse more or less. For Sicily I'd say Syracuse is the low point for Middle Eastern admixture.

I changed my opinion. You look more Dinarid + CM. I think would fit better in the ex-Yugoslavian countries rather than Eastern Balkans. I don't see Pontid or Med at all.

But there is North Pontid also for lighter or fair people with this type's appearance
