NATO under the leadership of the US, or a European Union army alliance - under the expected Franco-German leadership?

in fact, European countries spend less than 2 percent because of NATO and American weaponry, if there will arise European Army everything will change, buying own equipment will stimulate economical development of European countries

the second option is an insult. I dont know how you could even think about it.

Ideally a European Union Army but this ultimately means more expensive US weapons and a step towards the Russian market. What Macron does with this gimmick is just to remind the different people of different cultures called EU citizens that they belong to a single entity as they tend to forget.

Precisely. I think we should be willing to pay for our own defense. But not for America's colonial wars.

This is two-way road. The main defence importer and partner in USA is Europe. Losing of this market would be the big mistake. Actually an abstract European army is unrealistic today and the nearest future, EU is still barbarous for that. Much more better would be some compact army moblie army group consisting of 5-10 divisions under one united command that could get quickly in any part of EU border and around the world as well. Only after that successful experience the further integration will be possible

That's not colonial wars, this is the problem of collective security. That's why European states took a part in all campaigns. Ideally, exactly European states should be promoters of these cases
