So when the Scandinavians began to settle on Iceland they took Celtic women from Ireland to settle alongside with them so Icelandic mtdna is largely from Ireland. Is this a common knowledge in Iceland? Do Icelandic people feel any connection to Ireland as a result?

it's the closest nation to them also geographically together with Norway and UK and let's say Denmark for the Faroes and the Greenland. if they have any connection to other countries it must be these. however Icelandic women look Scando, with enough Scando-Lappid and Finnic-looking ones, rather than Irish. Iceland is stronk on CM, comparable to Denmark (the CM stronghold)

Icelandic women look Scando,

That's predominantly true - however - some Icelandic people look very Irish as well. Like that famous fashion blogger / make up artist on youtube from Iceland.

Also Bjork looks like a Irish/Finnish mix.

Red hair to emphasize, but you can even see it in the facial structure. When I was younger and my eyes were smaller people would say I looked like Bjork's sibling.
