There's a 30% off thanksgiving sale at FTDNA, so some pretty big drops. Might be worth picking up a test whilst the offers on, below is a list of the prices with the discounts, I was going to wait till the near year for y67 but y111 right now is 49 pounds cheaper than y67 is usually lol. Tempts me lol.

Now there is a Black Friday sale, Family Finder is only $39 (I guess it's around 35 euros). Folks, go get your kits, DNA testing has never been that cheap!

Better to buy this now singularly and upgrade later, or wait till later and buy a y-dna package with it? I can't afford anymore than this special right now.

Do you actually need it? You already know your autosomal make up and haplogroups.

Not really, but I'd like to get involved in my surname y-dna project. I assume you can't just bypass the family finder.

I'm thinking about it but I've already done ancestry and 23andme. Would there really be any reason to do this one other than for the raw data?

You can buy the Y dna by itself. I'm going for either y-67 or y-111 when I have the money as my Y haplogroup is super common south-slavic. Y-37 might suffice for you, depending on your Y HG.

Thanks. I already have decent haplogroup information from LivingDNA so I'd want to get something further down the line, maybe y-67 next year when there's a special on.

Majority of men buy Y67 anyway, that will be suffice for now. In the future you can upgrade if you want. They will keep your spit on file.
