The Vikings brought a lot of slaves from Ireland and Scotland to Iceland so that makes sense.

I thought that most of the mtDNA of Iceland was a mix of Scandinavia and the British Isles.

Icelanders are as close to the British/Irish as to mainland Scandinavians, genetically.
