That's how I thought all Hungarians looked until I got on here.

I'm not an expert on how Hungarian gypsies look or anything, he is like a dinaro-turanoid but atypically dark (or maybe it's the photo). He doesn't look regular because most of them aren't turanoid anyway. Doesn't look as gypsy as op though. The fact that you are haplo N betrays turanic origins too. OP looks just mixed, not really turanid.

He was sun tanned in this photo and was noticeably paler in winter. I totally agree Dinaro-Turanoid is a good classification for him. And you are correct my dad was not gypsy, just standard Magyar. The N haplo was a big surprise to me, I got that from 23andMe. Here is my dad un-tanned:
