NarLFC asked me to make a gallery of mainland Greeks, so there it is. I made the list from international footballers from 1994 till today. There's always a chance some people from Macedonia/Thrace and Athens could be part Anatolian/Pontic/Eastern Thrace Greeks.

Good representation overall.
One correction, the photo of Kopitisis you posted is not of him, it is of Kasapis. This is Kopitsis:

They look like a mixture of Balkan and Southern European (overlapping with all Southern Europeans and Balkan peoples to various degrees), with minor Anatolia/Caucasus input. I don't see any overlap to any Semitic-speaking peoples and they don't look Slavic either, though some could pass within the variation in Eastern Europe even still.

Greeks and Albanians would both rather it isn't so. To me in these photos the average look is a mixture of Dinarid and Pontid/Atlanto-Med.
Some people can also pass in Britain and Ireland, like these sorts:

They are there, but a minority. I will say this, I see more people passable in Poland than in Lebanon/Syria/Palestine.
But most of these people look firmly Balkan or South European. I don't even see that much Caucasus/Anatolian.

Thanks for the set nightrider and kudos to you for using footballers :D
Overall they look Southern European and phenotypically look Greek to me and fall within the Greek spectrum for the most part. The key difference I see here is that mainlanders have a smaller number of people that have a Anatolian/Caucasus shift and a relatively higher number of people that overlap with Albanians, Macs and Bulgarians. Far from proper slavic influence imo. The Islanders have a visibly higher frequency of people with an Anatolian/Caucasus pull but they mostly still resemble the Greeks in your set(mainlanders).
Surprisingly, they're quite distinct from Italians as a whole even if some individuals do overlap with either side.
And you can rest easy for I see absolutely zero middle eastern or levantine influences in your set.
Kyrgiakos the Liverpool legend Haha. What do you think the "LFC" stands for in my username? :D

Nice thread!
Would you be down to make another thread for footballers of Greek islander descent?

Perhaps I'll try another day but they are much harder to find. Other than the 2 Manolas, Kapsis and Spiros Marangos I can't recall any others from when I went through the squads. I'd have to dig deeper into non-internationals.
edit: I forgot the Cretans like Machlas, Samaras, Karelis etc

Yeah, I just edited the post about Cretans. Also Kostas Frantzeskos (greatest European free kick taker ever ;) ) is most likely of islands descent.

be quiet clown your credibility with Greek phenotypes and anything Greek anthropologically is at subzero levels.

The vast majority are medish Southern European types. There is a slavic looking minority amongst them though

Mani and Cyclades.
The Dodecanese and Crete look too Semitic while the rest of the mainland absorbed some Slavic.

Thanks but not solely my work, a friend named Malus found at least half the lookalikes for a troll thread I opened some years ago (https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?161256-100-PURE-GREEK-CONTINUITY). From what I remember, it took us something like 2 minutes per 10 lookalikes.

I guess we are firmly in Dinaro-Med territory here, boys. I do notice that a having a sturdy jaw is a common trait amongst Greeks than the Spanish, southern French or Italians.
