He's Romanian by the way. Turbo-folk singer lol.

Atlantid + Dinarid

Intrestingly enough, our turbo-folk singers usually look much more woggy than this guy. Does Romania also have a lot of Gypsies and people with partial Gypsy ancestry in your turbo-folk scene?

Nah, he has no gypsy ancestry. He's a hipster turbo-folkist lol. It's kind of a new thing.
Unlike other countries in the Balkans, in Romania turbo-folk is considered utter trash.
Turbo-folk is even forbidden in public places, like public transportation, stations, taxis etc.

But lately, leftists in universities, in a move to make gypsy culture more acceptable, are pushing for this bullshit.
He's promoted by left-wing magazines, like Vice etc.

A sample of his work :D

Yeah, I didn't even imply he had any Gypsy ancestry, as he obviously physically looks different from most such singers. I was simply asking about the situation in general.

His 'work' is pretty much the same garbage us normal folks of Serbia have to endure every single day. Over here, if you're not a part of that sub-culture, chances are that you aren't going to get along and make a lot of friends with most people in your environment. You should consider yourselves lucky that you still have dignity left, because as soon as a crisis hits you, like the one we had in the 90s, that's sadly going to become a part of your reality as well.

Also, VICE, hipsters and other leftists here are staunchly against turbo-folk and almost all of them listen to old stuff and alt-rock. It's the extreme right that reveres this type of crap and pushes the narrative that the half-Gypsy singer Ceca is some kind of 'Serbian mother'. Especially the Serbs in diaspora have a huge hard on for this 'genre' of music and a lot of the singers' revenue comes from doing tours in Germany, the US, etc. :picard1:

Then of course you can have progressive-rock turbo-folk lol.
See these Romanians at a gypsy festival, gypsy kids are digging it:

Truth is, every method to integrate gypsies as fast as possible needs to be used.
