K13: check if you have West/Central/East/North/South Euro genetics

Rule of thumb for checking this using Eurogenes K13 calculator.

1. First, to see if you are West, Central or East European:

Add your (North Atlantic + West Med) and divide by your (Baltic + West Asian + East Med):

Results above 1.50 = Western
Between 1.50 and 0.71 = Central
Results below 0.71 = Eastern

2. Second, to see if you are Southern or Northern European:

Add your (North Atlantic + Baltic) and divide by your (West Med + West Asian + East Med):

Results above 1.65 = Northern
Results below 1.65 = Southern

It is borderline for them. Depends on individual and region of Romania, Western and Northern Romanians are more likely to get Central (and these regions of Romania are considered parts of Central Europe).

Bulgarians are firmly South-Eastern, though.

North Italy is also at the border between Central and Western (average for North Italy is 1.50 which means that half should get Central results, the other half Western).

Adding Red Sea into account as well (even after lowering the threshold accordingly from 0.71 to 0.60-something) would shift entire South Italy to Eastern Europe. South-Eastern, of course.

Impaler is Romanian and got South-Eastern as you can see.

Some Romanians near Moldova/Ukraine borders can score North-Eastern.

With 1.5 - 1.0 range there is no point to distinguish Central Europe at all, instead you can cut it halfway between 1.5 and 0.71 and say that above 1.1 is Western and below 1.1 is Eastern.

If you add Red Sea Bulgarians get 0.68, but then most groups get slightly lower scores of course.

Greeks are more eastern genetically than most of South Slavs (the latter obviously have significant Celtic etc. admixtures, apart from East Med and Slavic).

What is funny is that in K13 spreadsheet "Ukrainian Lviv" is genetically more eastern than "Ukrainian". I asked Davidski why is this the case (there is hardly any area of Ukraine to the west of Lviv) and he answered that "Ukrainian" average are North-Western Ukrainians (Volhynia basically).

"Ukrainian Belgorod" is more representative of Eastern Ukraine.

With Red Sea taken into account, Ukrainian Belgorod scores 0.54 while Ukrainian Lviv 0.70 (without Red Sea 0.55 and 0.72 respectively). Western Ukrainians are significantly more western than Eastern Ukrainians.

Genetically Slovenes and Croats are Northern.

Some coastal Croats can get Southern though.

Where exactly is the Southwest_Russian from? Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh?
I would expect Volhynia to be more Belorussian-like than that Eurogenes average. I don't know why he used Belgorod for a Ukrainian reference, that's a Russian city. He could have opted for Dniepropetrovsk or Kharkov instead.
