Sub-Atlanto-Mediterranean also known as North-Western. Doesn't pass in either natively in my opinion. Passes best in the British Isles which is where I'm presuming his ancestry lies because of his surname and being from America.

I have amended my initial opinion.. he couldn't pass as Romanian, without considerable attenuation of his Westerness (wearing Romanian folk dress, having icons of Haghi in his home etc)
