Idk, it depends on touristic preferences which vary. I don't think many Russians know what is the climate in Spain exactly (nor do I). Everyone knows it's warm and there're beaches though.
Btw, I live in a very good climate.

Most of the western world doesn't have great natural ressources besides a temperate climate and advanced techniques acquired progressively through the ages. Clearly nothing anywhere near, opening a tap and get petrodollars all day from it. Most of the oil wasn't even discovered by the locals but European companies like Shell that are present there for nearly a hundred years.

In Africa, you just have to bend over to gather all sorts great natural ressources. The could all be rich if they knew what to do with it or had the basic developement to exploit them in the first place. Chineses wont let it go to waste now anyway.
