Many in Rome feared today a devastating earthquake that had been predicted in 1915 by planetary seismologist Raffaele Bendandi, dead 30 years ago. Apparently he had already guessed right some other past earthquakes, and he was so confident about his predictions that he had them confirmed by a notary.

He failed his calculations/visions. It's been not Roma, but the region of Murcia, in the SE of Spain, in Lorca, near Carthago Nova (delenda est Carthago). Today, three earthquakes have taken place there, the strongest reaching 5.2, causing extensive damage and at least 10 deaths after the fall of two buildings, which places it as the most dramatic earthquake in Spain since 1956.
