With Babur's invasion through the Khyber Pass in the early 16th century, the Mughal Empire was born, but how did they properly consolidate power in a subcontinent that was totally alien to them? Armchair Historian's Video:

They imported Afghan and Turkic mercenaries. Anyway I think Muslims from the region glorify them way too much. They were a very warlike and savage people, whereas the Muslims living there now are not.

Cause Indians are weak.

This +1

Although, they never conquered all of India, a few regions like Assam and Kerala where my ancestors came from was never apart of the Mughal Empire.

They could control India because Indians were disunited along lines of caste, language, region, different religions or different religious sects etc. Due to these divisions Indians had a tendency to stab each other in the back whereby many of them would ally with outsiders to defeat other Indians or help the outsiders to rule Indians. Also Indians were not as well organised militarily as the invaders.

During Islamic spread most work already done by Ummayid & Abbasid caliphates which passed on to Samanids Central Asia. These rulers could not defeat the main Indian Hindu rulers for 300 years but once they started using the turcic & afghans using more firepower they started having some success starting from 1000AD Ghaznavid dynasty. Using vast armies & firepower they some success in establishing the first Sultanate in Punjab after capture of Peshawar in 1001 Ad

After another 150 years Ghorids overthrew ghaznid & According to Firishta faced hindu Rajput army in Second Battle of Tarain
in 1192 after some defeats in first war.
the Rajput army consisted of 3,000 elephants, 300,000 cavalry and infantry. Minhaj-i-Siraj, stated Mu'izz brought 120,000 fully armored men to the battle in 1192 & won due to some treachery in Hindu camp. So they established first Sultanate in Delhi which continued

until defeated be Marathas in 18th century & immediately by British who established formal rule of England in 1858 after 200+ years of East India company. The East India company had real brilliant generals like Robert Clive, Stringer Lawrence, Arthur Wellesley, Munroes, Eyre Coote, Cornwallis who managed the initial wars that led to establishment of British Indian Army & Queens rule in 1858.

With savagery, dumbness and animalistic behaviour like pretty much all moslem barbarians anywhere. Also, India is a modern invention, the place was heavily divided between different groups, races and castes which would easily stab the others when given the opportunity. Before Muslim invasions India was the richest place on earth and after Muslims + brits it became very poor.

Middle East would also be much richer and developed without Muslim savagery. You can compare Muslim invasions in India and Middle East with Greek conquests which were far more civilized and cultured.

Because that time india was not united. It was 100s of several kingdoms fighting each other for dominance. Mughal and other invaders took advantage of it.
