Mom Gives Botox to 8-Year-Old Daughter: How Young Is Too Young?

8-year-old Britney and her mom, Kerry, prepare for a Botox treatment.
Botox injections and leg waxing on an 8-year-old girl, all in the name of beauty pageant success, all done by her own mom.

It sounds too unreal to be true, like a storyline straight out of "When Stage Moms Go Bad."

It's not.

It's real life for an 8-year-old California girl.

We spoke with the girl, Britney, and her mom, Kerry, to learn exactly why they turned to Botox, and exactly how young is too young when it comes to using medical treatments for the sake of beauty.

Kerry, who asked that her family's last name not be used, told "Good Morning America's" Lara Spencer that it was actually her daughter, Britney, who wanted to try Botox, a beauty treatment more normally requested by aging women than growing girls.

"We were getting into the pageants," Kerry recalled. "I knew she was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that. When I brought it up to Britney she was all for it."

So Kerry, a San Francisco, Calif.-based, part-time aesthetician and no stranger to Botox herself, having done the treatment on her own face, began injecting her daughter with the anti-wrinkle solution.

"She had watched me do it before," said Kerry. "So when we first did it she was fine with it."

Kerry typically administers the Botox to Britney through a total of five shots, in three different locations on her face.

But can Botox really make a difference on a young girl who has not even had time in her life to develop the "worry" lines or age creases Botox is typically sought out to erase?

"The few times that we did it, it would lessen the lines," said Kerry. "They wouldn't completely disappear, she's a kid. And we don't do so much to where it's going to make a big difference."

But it's enough of a difference for Kerry and Britney to continue on with the treatments, despite the pain.

"It hurts sometimes," said Britney. "It makes me nervous. But I get used to it."

While Britney thinks about the physical pain, critics in the medical community contend that administering Botox this early raises another type of more lasting pain: the potential for permanent psychological damage.

"Well, when I first heard this story, I think my initial reaction is to be a little bit in disbelief, and a little bit horrified," said Dr. Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist. "There's a lot of psychological damage that can be caused."

"I'm a great mother. I've taken care of her by myself my whole life," she said. "And nobody can really tell me what I'm doing is wrong. Because it's me. I live in my shoes. And she lives in hers."

"I'm a great mother. I've taken care of her by myself my whole life." Oh, she treats her daughter like shit, probably because she didn't go far in any pageant or she always wished she had competed in one, she's now going to force her dreams on her daughter, but, she did it by herself. Give her a fucking medal, she's obviously earned it.

These beauty pageants should be banned, They give young girls a false sense of worth and the parents involved abuse their children.

One of the few things I agree with my mother on. I was picked for a pageant to represent my school when I was 16, and my mother wouldn't let me because she thinks they're degrading to women.

The sexualization of young girls bothers me too. My parents would not have let me out of the house wearing some things that young girls, some even as young as 10, wear today.

Plus, this woman is not a doctor. She could inject the botox in the wrong spot and that could kill her. People have died from botox injections administered by people posing as doctors.

Such contests are fine for sexually mature individuals, but not for children, even less so for small children, worst if being dressed up like sluts and drag queens even at times, in completely artificial and absurd roles, fostering just a corrupted attitude and false ideal of superficial, commercial, cheap trash as the primary goal of life.

Her daughter should have been removed from her custody.

Indeed, the mother is not right in the head...

Stupidity at it's finest. The child should have been taken away as fast as possible. Children having beauty pageants seems like pedophiles dream come true. Worrying that such thing do exist. Many women see pageants as nothing more than objectification of them, and I would not disagree, even when the constants are adults it should not be encouraged. Scary thing is this, I mean what kind of a message does this send to your daughters.

Mother argues they want daughter to be a star. Probably child is as mentally handicaped as mother: a sane girl of eight would recognize her mother's behaviour as ridiculous, just by comparison with other families and ask to stop the shameful procedure. Or not! Maybe Californian society is full of morons, specially at sick rotten communities like Hollywood, probably filled with the worst trash of America and their ridiculous dreams...just remember what I posted before in another thread: if Fray Junipero Serra raise his head! :coffee:

Kerry Campbell loses custody of daughter Britney after botox admission

A Californian woman has allegedly lost custody of her daughter after telling ABC that she had injected botox into her daughter’s face ahead of a beauty pageant.

Kerry Campbell apparently admitted that she had used botox on her 8-year-old daughter Britney to get rid of wrinkles ahead of a pageant. The San Francisco Human Services Agency then apparently launched an investigation into the unusual claim.

Botox is generally administered by a trained medical practitioner, partly because there can be complications. It is sometimes used for children, but for medical rather than cosmetic reasons. Botox is said to be safe, but 97% of respondents to an ABC poll still claimed that they were against the idea of giving the stuff to such a young girl.

That wouldn't surprise me. The media generally have somewhat ok standards, however the tabloids like The Sun, which is the newspaper that is supposed to have payed her to tell this story, they're rotten to the core. They'll make up stories, lie and do anything else just to sell, sell and sell newspapers. They're a good example of the todays cynical business world, they manipulate people being the buyers who represent the supply factor to buy stuff or shit they don't really need. Today it's more about making a product appear good than to actually make a good product and sell it.

Shitty day...

Some mothers are crazy. When I was a baby, someone wanted to hire me to advertise. My mother said no because he thought child exploitation. Between child advertising and surgery, I believe there is a pretty big difference.

If this is an invention of the media, it seems to me to make a crash because it's disgusting. In fact, in Spain would have a penalty because the children are specifically protected.

Wait...WHAT? Sick!!! What does an 8 year old need botox for? really, taking your kid to a sex club or a pub is way better parenting than this.

Well, what can you expect from California? The whole place is crawling with the worst sorts of drug-addicts, sodomites, rapists, cultural Marxists, and various other social degenerates. It's an entire state of woodchipper-fodder.

California. They might just as well bring in the demolition teams, clear the rubble and start over from scratch. It seems to be a magnet for the very worst that the U.S.A (or the world for that matter) has on offer when it comes to degeneracy.

Having botox injected in an 8 year old brings degeneracy to a whole new level and I think that the mother should lose the child and never be allowed to see her again until well into adulthood so she can't screw up the child even more. For the woman this stamp will do:

The woman should be put in a psychiatric ward and given a bunch of dolls to play with instead of playing with a human child's mind and appearance. The kid asked for the botox it says, PLEASE, who filled up this poor girls head with this bullshit, of course the answer to that would be her sea-cow mother who was never pretty in her life and is using her child to feel pretty her self.

The driving force behind Bratz is Avi Arad, an Israeli-American who is very big on diversity, at least for America: "The first thing I saw in them was diversity." ... "I really liked the idea that they had a Latino girl, an Asian girl, an African American girl and a lily-white kid. They show that your color is not going to set up your path in life. And I think that works because, among kids, it's becoming more and more of one world for a change."

The dolls need the media so that girls will ask for one. The Hollywood media is owned by the Jews. Bratz and Barbie were made by Jews.

Question: How does the media effect body image in teens?
Answer: Advertising in teen magazines and on television typically glamorizes skinny models who do not resemble the average woman. In fact, today's models generally weight 23% less then the average woman. Considering the average person in the United States sees approximately 3,000 ads in magazines, billboards, and television every day, your teenager is getting the wrong message about body image much too often.

Women in the media get botox injections, bigger boobs and much more. Girls get low self esteem. They eat lots and get obese or they don't eat at all. They start to hate men and blame White males.
