I’ve been doing some research lately. I found out that…
- Italian input in Cypriots is virtually non-existent. Only a handful of noble families, and troops settled the island during the 80 year occupation period of the venetians and most of these people left after the Ottomans took over. It was only rare cases who stayed and converted to Islam but these were too tiny to make an impact.
- It is clear to me that the Southern European element in Cypriots is of Greek origin. History proves this to be true many times. Mycenaean, Ptolemy and Macedonia have all ruled Cyprus not to mention that the Greek language was spoken there since the beginning of recorded history.
Some members seem to think that I have some type of 'agenda' for some reason. All I want to say is that I don't care about propaganda, I care only for facts. I could care less for past grievances.
